Legislation, Regulation and By-Laws

The Manitoba government establishes the legislation that governs health professions.

The Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act sets out, in law, the powers, duties and responsibilities of the CRPNM, its members and their employers.

The Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act defines the practice of psychiatric nursing, the regulation of the profession and gives the authority for members to use of the title Registered Psychiatric Nurse, or any variation or abbreviation of that title.

The Registered Psychiatric Nurse Regulation addresses the registration requirements, standards for education and practice, code of ethics and continuing competence.
