Registered Psychiatric Nurses
The College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) exists to protect the public. The Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act sets out, in law, the powers, duties and responsibilities of the CRPNM, its members and their employers. RPNs play an important role in the governance of the organization and in the regulation of the profession.
The CRPNM aims to promote good practice and to prevent poor practice by supporting RPNs to meet the Code of Ethics and Standards of Psychiatric Nursing Practice and by administering the registration processes and the Continuing Competence Program.
When necessary, the CRPNM protects the public by addressing complaints that are brought against Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses or former Registered Psychiatric Nurses.
