Practice Guidelines

The CRPNM aims to promote good practice and to prevent poor practice by supporting RPNs to meet the Code of Ethics and Standards of Psychiatric Nursing Practice. Practice guidelines are intended to compliment the Code or Standards and any legislation or other resources that guide professional practice.

Practice guidelines are provided as a resource to RPNs to promote discussion, self reflection, clinical decision making and sound professional judgment.

Self employed RPNs or RPNs considering independent practice are strongly encouraged to use the link at the left to review the Guidelines for Registered Psychiatric Nurses in Independent Practice and to read important information about malpractice/liability insurance requirements.

The CRPNM is currently reviewing and/or developing practice guidelines and will post them here as they are ready.
