We acknowledge that Manitoba is on the original lands of the Dakota, Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Dené, Inuit and Métis Nation. We acknowledge that the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba is located on Treaty One territory. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, and we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past. We dedicate ourselves to moving forward in partnership with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.

Professional Liability Protection/CNPS

The College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) has introduced a new requirement for a minimum of $5 million of professional liability protection. This protection must be made available on an occurrence basis, in a form suitable to the CRPNM, for those on the Practising and Graduate registers beginning January 1, 2020.

The CRPNM has entered into an agreement with the Canadian Nurses Protective Society (CNPS) to ensure Manitoba Registered Psychiatric Nurses, and Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, can meet this requirement by having access to adequate professional liability protection and a comprehensive program of services that includes legal advice, risk management services, and legal assistance related to nursing practice.

CNPS webinars are free to CRPNM members. To learn more about CNPS webinars and other educational resources, please click here.

The CNPS Services page outlines all of the benefits and services available to CRPNM members.
