We acknowledge that Manitoba is on the original lands of the Dakota, Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Dené, Inuit and Métis Nation. We acknowledge that the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba is located on Treaty One territory. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, and we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past. We dedicate ourselves to moving forward in partnership with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.

To be eligible for the Registered Psychiatric Nurse register and to renew a certificate of practice, you must have practiced:

  • A minimum of 1400 hours of practice in the immediately preceding five-year period; or,
  • A minimum of 560 hours in the immediately preceding two-year period. (NEW)

Employment and volunteer hours may be approved as practice hours if the member is on the Registered Psychiatric Nurse register and can demonstrate that the position is consistent with the definition of the practice of psychiatric nursing in the Practice of Psychiatric Nursing Regulation.

The determination of work or employment that constitutes Registered Psychiatric Nursing practice rests with the College.
