2024 CRPNM Certificate of Practice Renewal Is Now Open!

Renewal FAQ & Registered Psychiatric Nurse Fee

Please view our 2024 Renewal Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) here.

The Registered Psychiatric Nurse fee for 2024 is $618 plus GST.

Health Equity and Cultural Humility Jurisprudence Learning Module

All Registered Psychiatric Nurses must complete the Health Equity and Cultural Humility jurisprudence learning module in order to renew your 2024 certificate of practice. Once you have completed the module, please click print, save the certificate of completion as pdf, and email to admin@crpnm.mb.ca

Background Checks for Renewal

If you were selected to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a Child Abuse Registry Check, and an Adult Abuse Registry Check (collectively, the “Background Checks”) you will need to submit them (all three) before you can access renewal.

Those that were selected to provide the Background Checks in 2023 were notified by e-mail. This is a requirement to renew your certificate of practice.

Renewing Your Professional Liability Protection with Canadian Nurses Protective Society (CNPS)

The College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba General Regulation requires that a member who holds a valid certificate of practice must obtain and maintain professional liability protection as a beneficiary of the Canadian Nurses Protective Society (CNPS). The payment of the CNPS fee at renewal will satisfy the PLP requirement.

The PLP fee is set by CNPS. You can learn more about Professional Liability Protection/CNPS here

On the Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) Plan?

If you are on the Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) plan, the last payment was withdrawn on September 1, 2023. Unless you told us otherwise, your PAP payments included the 2024 CNPS fee ($92.25 plus the GST). To learn more about PAP, please click here

Verifying Your 2024 Certificate of Practice Renewal

When you renew your certificate of practice, your certificate will update with your new expiry date on January 1, 2024. However, the registration history at the CRPNM Public Register will record the effective date as soon as your renewal is approved.

Employers have been asked to use the Public Register or the Employer Verification Site to verify your registration status. This is the most reliable method of verification as the information is updated in real time. If your employer has questions or concerns, you can also direct them to the CRPNM office.

All eligible CRPNM members will receive a “Renewal Notice” email when renewal opens. Renewal can be accessed at the Online Self-Service Portal. Please feel welcome to contact us should you have more questions.
